Meet Our Psychologists
Solana Counselling was created as a collaboration between two friends with a mutual passion for helping others. After meeting in graduate school, and each pursuing our own avenues of counselling, we decided to bring our unique experiences together to form a counselling practice that highlights our shared values.
Cara LizziHey guys, I'm Cara!
I am a registered provisional psychologist at Solana! I have experience working with children, teenagers, adults and couples facing a variety of concerns. I am especially drawn to working with people who are struggling with grief and loss, trauma, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal difficulties. I take a non-judgmental, warm and supportive stance in sessions, and I want therapy to feel as organic and comfortable as possible to ensure that your experience is a positive one. I don't believe that therapy is one size fits all, so I try to tailor the approaches I use to the client I am seeing. I pull from approaches such as narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, art therapy, and play therapy. I am always willing to adjust sessions so that you feel you are getting the most out of our time together. I look forward to getting to know you! |
Erin PasqualettoHi there, I'm Erin!
I'm so glad you've taken the first step in reaching out for help! I know how nerve-wracking it can feel to ask for support, but I would be honoured to hear your story. I am a registered provisional psychologist through the College of Alberta Psychologists. I have experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and children through a multitude of challenges including anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict, and trauma. I am passionate about helping others from a client-centred, empathetic, and non-judgemental perspective. I pull from a variety of therapeutic approaches in my work including narrative, solution-focused, mindfulness, play therapy, and EMDR, in order to tailor the process specifically to your needs. My goal is for you to feel comfortable in sharing your story so we can begin to take steps together toward the future you want for yourself. |
We have many shared passions beyond counselling, primarily our love of dogs. We love to get together for some puppy cuddles, a glass of wine, and to watch some true crime documentaries. Pictured above are Erin's dogs; Luna and Harlow, and Cara's dog; Chase.
A little about me personally...
I am originally from the east coast of Canada, and I attended StFX for my undergraduate degree in psychology. While I love the maritimes, Calgary has been my home for a long time and I am excited to begin practice in such a vibrant and connected city. When I'm not working, I enjoy hanging out with family, friends, and my dogs. I've known that I wanted to be a psychologist my whole life, and I couldn't be more grateful to be able to provide support to those in need. |
To tell you a little bit about myself...
I am a born and raised Calgarian (rare, I know)! In my spare time, I enjoy travelling, reading mystery novels, going camping, and attending country music concerts. My all time favourite place to travel is California, and I go there every chance I get. Like Erin, I have known I wanted to be a psychologist since I was a child, and that passion for helping others has only grown since then. I'm so humbled to be able to connect with others while they are facing life's challenges. |
